Adding the plyo push-up to your training routine brings an explosive element to your upper body workouts. Since you only need your own bodyweight, it fits seamlessly right after your dynamic warmup or at the very beginning of your main strength block when your muscle fibers are fresh and capable of generating maximum power. By pushing hard off the floor to gain momentary air time, you recruit your chest and triceps much more intensely than during standard variations. Another great option is using this movement as a high-intensity finisher at the very end of your session to completely deplete your remaining energy and maximize muscle fatigue.
1. Adopt a push-up position with your body aligned. 2. Lower and push explosively, trying to lift your hands off the floor. 3. Land softly by bending your elbows to absorb the impact. 4. Repeat, always maintaining body control.

- Propel yourself with enough force to lift your hands off the floor. - Land softly, bending your elbows. - Keep your core firm throughout the movement.
