Male
The clap push-up is a phenomenal bodyweight exercise designed to build explosive power in your chest, but keeping your technique clean is essential to avoid common training mistakes. Many people make the error of letting their hips sag during the drive upward or flaring their elbows excessively, which drains your upward momentum and puts unwanted stress on the shoulder joints. By staying focused on keeping your core rigid and pushing off the floor as one solid unit, you ensure a crisp clap and a smooth, safe landing. Fixing these minor details protects your joints while maximizing the explosive velocity in every rep.
1. Get into a push-up position with your hands wider than shoulder-width apart. 2. Lower your body uniformly, keeping your elbows at 45° from your torso. 3. Propel yourself explosively upward, lifting your hands off the floor. 4. Clap under your torso and place your hands back before landing.

- Start with small claps until you master the technique and necessary power. - Keep your core very firm during the propulsion and clap to stabilize your body. - Land with your hands slightly wider than in the starting position for a stable base.
