The Lever Chest Press (plate loaded) provides a guided trajectory that is excellent for building your chest, but staying mindful of common mistakes is crucial. A frequent error on this leverage machine is lifting your back off the seat when pressing or letting your elbows flare out excessively, which shifts unwanted stress onto your joints. By properly setting the seat height and focusing on keeping your shoulders relaxed and down during the movement, you directly target the chest muscles. Paying attention to these setup details on the machine prevents bouncing the weight at the bottom and ensures every repetition contributes safely to your strength development.
1. Sit on the chest press machine and adjust the seat so the handles are at chest level, then grasp the handles with a pronated grip. 2. Press the handles forward and upward in a controlled arc until your arms are fully extended. 3. Pause at the top, squeezing your chest muscles. 4. Slowly return the handles to the starting position by bending your elbows, keeping them at a 90-degree angle.

- Keep your shoulders pinned back and down on the pad. - Squeeze your chest at the top of the press. - Lower the handles until your elbows are at a 90-degree angle. - Exhale as you press and inhale as you lower.
