Master the Dumbbell Incline Bench Press by keeping an eye on technical detail to avoid common pitfalls that limit your gains. One frequent mistake is flaring your elbows out too wide in a T-shape, which puts undue stress on your shoulders rather than focusing on your chest. Another habit to avoid is clanking the dumbbells together at the top of the movement, as this releases tension right when you want peak contraction. By keeping your elbows slightly tucked and controlling the weights smoothly on the way down, you keep continuous load on your upper pectoral muscles, prevent shoulder strain, and build a stronger press.
1. Lie on your back on an incline bench with the dumbbells at shoulder height. 2. Push the dumbbells upward using your chest as you exhale. 3. Hold the top position with tension in your chest. 4. Lower the dumbbells controllably to the starting position as you inhale.

- Keep your feet firmly planted on the floor for stability. - Lower the dumbbells until your elbows form 90 degrees. - Push the dumbbells in a slightly converging arc.
