The band twist is an incredibly versatile movement that fits perfectly into different parts of your workout depending on your goal for the day. If you include it during your warmup, it serves as a great tool to activate your core, mobilize your spine, and engage your obliques and adductors before heavier lifts. If you place it in your main strength block, opting for a firmer elastic band will force your abdomen to stay tight as you rotate under tension. Alternatively, it works amazingly well as a finisher at the end of your session to fully exhaust your lateral muscles with higher reps. Adding this exercise to your routine builds rotation stability safely without putting unnecessary stress on your joints.
1. Hold the band anchored to the side with your arms extended in front. 2. Rotate your torso, moving your hands away from the anchor point. 3. Hold for one second at the end of the twist, keeping your abdomen firm. 4. Return to the center, controlling the band's resistance.

- Keep your arms extended in front. - Rotate from your torso, not just from your arms. - Control the return to the center.
