Sometimes the simplest moves require relentless execution, and the standing calf raise is a perfect example of that. To get the absolute most out of this exercise, all you need is your own body weight and the drive to push up firmly onto the balls of your feet. A great set is not about bouncing rapidly; it is about rising with confidence to full height, squeezing hard at the top, and feeling that intense contraction in your calves. When you control every descent steadily, you know with complete confidence that you are targeting the right muscle fibers effectively.
1. Stand with feet hip-width apart. 2. Elevate your heels, shifting your weight onto the balls of your feet. 3. Hold for one second at the top, emphasizing the calf contraction. 4. Lower with control, returning to the starting position.

- Pause at the top of the movement. - Lower your heels as much as possible. - You can do this on a step to increase the range of motion.
