When you want to transfer core strength into real athletic performance, the Dead Bug is a game changer. Using just your body weight, this movement forces you to build an immovable midsection while actively engaging your abdomen, glutes, and quadriceps. The magic happens through control: keeping your lower back anchored to the floor as opposite limbs extend creates profound pelvic stability and diagonal coordination. Mastering the Dead Bug translates directly into better transfer of power when you sprint, jump, or execute heavy compound lifts. It teaches your body how to shield your spine under tension, giving you that solid foundation every athlete needs to move faster, stay resilient, and generate maximum force during intense training sessions.
1. Lie on your back with your arms extended towards the ceiling and your legs at 90°. 2. Simultaneously extend the opposite arm and leg without arching your back. 3. Hold for one second in the extension, keeping your abdomen firm. 4. Return to the center and alternate the movement with the opposite side.

- Keep the lower part of your back pressed against the floor. - Extend the opposite arm and leg in a controlled manner. - Do not fully extend your leg if you feel discomfort in your lumbar region.
