The Band lateral raise is a fantastic movement to build shoulders using continuous resistance that feels different from free weights. To gain total confidence in your technique, pay attention to how your muscles feel throughout the set. As you stretch the elastic band, tension increases towards the top, meaning a quality set requires smooth control without shrugging your neck. Pausing briefly at shoulder height lets you feel a strong contraction directly in your shoulders. Lowering your arms slowly against the band's pull guarantees that every single rep delivers maximum tension and optimal benefit.
1. Step on the band with both feet and hold the ends, keeping your arms at your sides. 2. Raise your arms out to the sides until they are at shoulder height without shrugging your neck. 3. Hold for one second at the top to emphasize the contraction of the middle deltoid. 4. Lower slowly, controlling the band's tension at all times.

- Maintain a slight bend in your elbows during the lift. - Control the descent to resist the band's tension. - Avoid shrugging your shoulders towards your ears.
