Male
The Russian twist is a dynamic core exercise that fits seamlessly near the end of your workout as a finisher or within a targeted midsection block. Since it uses your bodyweight, placing it toward the close of your session allows you to completely exhaust your obliques and abs without undermining your heavy compound lifts beforehand. Sit down, lean back slightly, and rotate your torso side to side in a steady, deliberate rhythm. Integrating this movement as a burnout at the tail end of your training helps solidify core stability, ensuring your midsection stays active, strong, and highly resistant to fatigue.
1. Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat, holding a weight plate or dumbbell in front of your chest, and lean your torso back slightly. 2. Rotate your torso to the right, bringing the weight towards the floor beside your hip. 3. Pause at the side, feeling the contraction in your right oblique. 4. Rotate back to the center and then twist to the left in a controlled motion.

- Keep your core braced to maintain a stable spine. - Rotate from your torso, not just your arms. - Squeeze your obliques at each side of the twist. - Keep your legs elevated and stable to increase core engagement.
